The Glynne Arms

Our pub, The Glynne Arms is located in the centre of Hawarden village. It has a large courtyard perfect for enjoying during warmer weather, and menus that change with the seasons.

The Glynne Arms has been at the heart of the historic village of Hawarden for over 200 years.

Our pub is a welcoming and colourful space, located in the heart of historic Hawarden Village. Our menus change Seasonally and are created by Adam Williams to champion fruit and veg grow just a stone’s throw from the pub itself.

We are devoted to serving sustainable, delicious and local food from menus that morph and change according to the seasons.

THE FOOD

Led by Head Estate Chef Adam Williams and former Global Project Manager for Bill Granger’s international collection of restaurants, Caroline Gladstone, the food at The Glynne Arms is exceptional.

THE DRINK

Great food is nothing without a great drink beside it. So we’ve stepped up our game and selected the very best Welsh, biodynamic and natural wines, as well as curating a list of excellent craft beer, real ale and a collection of outstanding house cocktails, too.

PRIVATE HIRE

We have beautiful, private function rooms available for hire and can cater to your requirements. We’ve hosted a range of events, from birthday parties to baby showers. Our team is on hand to make your occasion super special.

OUR PARTNERS

We work with the very best local breweries, welsh wine experts, butchers, bakers, Farmers, Growers and foragers to deliver delicious food and drink every day.

The Glynne Arms was built in c.1812 and is named after the Glynne family who owned Hawarden Estate at that time.

In the courtyard you will see the coach house and stables where travellers could keep their horses and stay the night. To the right of the building you will see arches, under which butchers would cut up and sell their meat to the village. The courtyard behind, which is now our carpark, used to be a bustling livestock market until the early 1900s.

It is, to put it lightly, a building brimming with history which has, for the past 200 years, been at the heart of Hawarden village.
